About The Blog
I unexpectedly became a widow at 33. My husband and I spent much of our 10 years together travelling the world. This blog was originally for family and friends to follow our infrequent adventures in globe-trotting. But with the recent turn of events, it has become a way to share my walk through this process. There are moments of grief, but also moments of light. Eventually, I will write the rest of our travel stories, and someday I will travel again myself. But for now, it is a form of therapy, and a way to maybe help others put their feelings into words. Thank you for following. ~Katie

It Wasn’t Always Like This
I sat in the Clerk of Court’s office, flustered. My typical calm and rational persona had all but left the building. I remember all too clearly the last time I sat in a similar office, unfamiliar with the process, and … Continue reading

Swerving Back In My Lane
I am a terrible driver. Truly awful. I actually forewarn friends and acquaintances of this personal flaw when they suggest “carpooling”. I’m all in, just be aware: I should not drive. I know that sounds ridiculous. “Katie, it’s driving. Not rocket science.” … Continue reading

Busy
A recent conversation with a blog follower (and friend!) who we shall call ‘Sue’… Sue: “You haven’t blogged lately. In fact, you haven’t blogged since December 9.” Me: “Wow, you’re right. Yeah, I do write. But I don’t always publish. … Continue reading
